Deborah Defer Joins the Woodard™️ Team as Director, CAAS Consulting

I’m excited to tell you about Deborah Defer joining the team, but first, a little context.  

Our educators and coaches have spent decades training and guiding practitioners in the adoption and implementation of “Woodard’s Ideal Practice Model™" where that model focuses primarily on firms offering client accounting services, client advisory services, outsourced controllership, and bookkeeping services. In this capacity, our coaches work with hundreds of practices to standardize, automate, modernize, and scale their operations.  

In our time coaching and educating within the accounting space, we found that many larger firms have much of the same needs as small and emerging practices, so over the past 18 months, Woodard™ has begun working with larger and larger firms to deploy our “Ideal Practice Model” within their CAAS (Client Accounting and Advisory Services) departments.  

To lean into this effort with the highest level of intentionality and the greatest degree of impact, we are excited to announce the appointment of Deborah Defer as the Director of CAAS Consulting. This strategic move solidifies Woodard's commitment to assisting the Top 200 largest CPA firms in the United States in enhancing their client accounting and advisory practices. Deborah brings over two decades of experience in CAAS leadership within enterprise firms, making her the ideal candidate to spearhead Woodard's CAAS Consulting Services team and drive the company to new heights of excellence.

In her role as Director of CAAS Consulting, Deborah Defer will be responsible for leading Woodard's efforts in providing comprehensive assessments, practice strategy, and design, as well as implementation support to the Top 200 largest CPA firms in the country. Her primary focus will revolve around standardization, data entry automation, modernization of client interactions, pricing, and expanding advisory services within existing CAAS clientele. With her extensive background and expertise, Deborah will guide the team in developing innovative strategies and implementing cutting-edge technologies to maximize efficiency, productivity, and profitability for Woodard's esteemed clients.
