New subscribers will continue to have access to QuickBooks Desktop Enhanced Payroll and new Enterprise Diamond customers will continue to have access to Assisted Payroll.
Additional Information from Intuit
Intuit's FAQ about the Desktop changes noted that the company will continue supporting Desktop products and customers, but "based on increasing demand for QuickBooks Online and alignment with our mission to help small businesses thrive, we are accelerating our investment into QuickBooks Online platform products."
Although the FAQ provided encouragement for customers to migrate from Desktop to Online products, it should be noted that the 2023 Desktop products include improvements. The most notable improvement is a new cash flow hub, which will help improve visibility into cash flow by monitoring inflows and outflows in a single dashboard.
