Intuit is upgrading accountant users of QuickBooks Online Plus to QuickBooks Online Advanced, starting in March, to manage their own firm’s books. Accountants using QuickBooks Online will now have access to many new features, such as custom reporting and batch transactions, at no cost, and without the loss of any data or functionality.
QuickBooks Online Advanced is Intuit’s most robust version of its QuickBooks Online product. It helps accountants to grow and develop their practices to improve efficiencies and increase value for clients. Bookkeepers and accountants can speed up their work, track important details and interpret performance data with enhanced custom fields, reports and charts. They can define and automate specific tasks and workflows, and better organize their work through integration with Google Sheets.
Some of QuickBooks Online Advanced’s key customizable features include:
- Custom Fields: This feature allows accountants to track and analyze unique data at any level of granularity to run a better business. It supports 48 custom fields with up to 12 fields available for each customer, vendor, sales forms, purchase order, and other expenses. Users can sort, filter, group by, and display information in columns of fields in three reports: custom contact list, vendor contact list, and unpaid bills.
- Custom Chart Builder: This feature, one accountants most frequently request, allows users to create custom KPI dashboards for clients. The charts provide data on key business metrics and allow comparisons against the same period in the previous year. They also allow the “time period” option of viewing business performance over the fiscal year.
- Custom Roles Expansion: Soon, accountants will be able to customize user access to limit accessibility of information to specified people. This will allow for pre-set roles that can be tailored to each user.
- Performance Center: This feature allows accountants to create and customize presentation-ready reports in order to track business performance and gain valuable insights.
- Batch Transactions: This tool allows users to edit multiple bills and check in just a few clicks.
- Tasks: This creates workflows and automates approval to reduce manual processes such as reminders, emails and overdue notices.
