Scaling New Heights 2023 Speakers and Sessions Announced

Woodard released the first round of speakers and sessions that will be presented at the Scaling New Heights™️ conference this summer in St. Louis, Missouri. There will be six tracks to choose from this year including Practice Development, Technology: Accounting Software, Business Technology, Personal Growth and Self-Care, Tax Topics, and a new Instructor/Writer track.

The theme of this year's conference is SOAR. The training sessions at Scaling New Heights 2023 will address the issues that keep you from soaring with cutting-edge education, and connect you with the latest products and innovations with the largest vendor exhibit floor in the industry.

Celebrating "Earned Income Credit Awareness Day"

The Internal Revenue Service and partners nationwide have launched their Earned Income Tax Credit Awareness Day outreach campaign on January 27, 2023, to help millions of Americans who earned $59,187 or less last year to take advantage of the Earned Income Tax Credit. Acting Commissioner Doug O’Donnell noted that many people miss out on the credit due to a lack of knowledge or not realizing they were eligible. He encouraged people to review the credit carefully and not to miss out on this important tax credit. IRS Launches Free 1099 Submission Portal 

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has launched the Information Returns Intake System (IRIS), a free and secure online portal for businesses of all sizes to file Form 1099 series information returns electronically. This innovative new system will help to streamline the filing process for those required to submit 1099 forms to the IRS, cutting down the millions of paper forms filed each year and saving time for businesses, especially small companies. Acting Commissioner Doug O'Donnell expressed his excitement for the launch of IRIS, emphasizing its ability to simplify filing for 1099s and help recipients receive information in a timely manner.
