Jina Etienne is a Certified Diversity Executive® (CDE) and DEI coach, trainer, and facilitator. As CEO of Etienne Consulting, LLC, Jina serves her clients with care, creativity, and courage, relishing the development of experiences and services that free audiences and extend beyond the moment. Her work centers on fearless inclusion, which she defines as the freedom to be yourself while creating space for others to do the same. She believes being truly seen is the most daring thing you can do. Jina empowers organizations and teams to cultivate workplace cultures where people interact authentically, individual thinking evolves, and strong connections boost engagement, productivity, and performance. Throughout her career, her efforts have made enduring impressions, leading to profound positive impacts on thousands of lives. She is a results-oriented leader with a proven track record of serving diverse clients, developing unique products and services, and creating value for customers, stakeholders, and team members. Her career includes roles such as Director of Diversity & Inclusion at Grant Thornton (GT), where she managed the firm’s Diversity & Inclusion strategy, and President & CEO of the National Association of Black Accountants, Inc. (NABA), where she led strategic direction, stakeholder relationships, and daily operations. She also served as Principal Consultant at EtiennePartners (EP), a boutique firm offering strategy development, workshops, and coaching for leaders and entrepreneurs. Jina is a content partner with the Massachusetts Society of CPAs, an author and trainer with Becker, and a Thought Leader with the Business Learning Institute (BLI). She develops and delivers custom training solutions, live webinars, on-demand programs, and on-site workshops on topics such as diversity & inclusion, self-awareness, leadership, talent management, and workplace culture. As a CPA with over 32 years of experience in public accounting, Jina brings first-hand knowledge to her work. She began her career in the tax department at Touche Ross (now Deloitte), later launching her private practice, Etienne & Associates, LLC. She eventually sold her practice to join the AICPA as Director of Taxation, Tax Ethics & Professional Standards for the AICPA Tax Section. In her spare time, Jina enjoys jigsaw puzzles, Sudoku, and chocolate, and she appreciates a really good cup of coffee. She’s a die-hard Arsenal FC fan (#COYG), a Peloton enthusiast (#FearlesslyMe), and loves Formula 1. She lives in Silver Spring, Maryland, with her husband, two sons, and Doug, their American bulldog.
