QuickBooks Desktop Plus products will no longer receive discounts in any channels: they will only be sold at full price.
The 2023 products will see a price increase with Intuit providing notification about the increase in early August. These are the products that are expected to increase in price:
The QuickBooks Accountant Desktop and Enterprise Accountant licenses are changing to a subscription model for 2023, including QuickBooks Desktop Accountant and Enterprise Accountant licenses in ProAdvisor bundles. No new purchases of these two Desktop Payroll products will be allowed starting June 1, 2022:
Current subscriptions and renewals will not be affected. The products are not being discontinued; instead, Intuit is working to consolidate offerings to new customers. New subscribers will continue to have access to QuickBooks Desktop Enhanced Payroll and new Enterprise Diamond customers will continue to have access to Assisted Payroll.
Intuit's FAQ about the Desktop changes noted that the company will continue supporting Desktop products and customers, but "based on increasing demand for QuickBooks Online and alignment with our mission to help small businesses thrive, we are accelerating our investment into QuickBooks Online platform products."
Although the FAQ provided encouragement for customers to migrate from Desktop to Online products, it should be noted that the 2023 Desktop products include improvements. The most notable improvement is a new cash flow hub, which will help improve visibility into cash flow by monitoring inflows and outflows in a single dashboard.
