It’s not always easy to thrive in the bookkeeping world, especially with ever-evolving compliance challenges and technological advancements that companies have to keep pace with, or else face audits and hefty fines. But attending the Scaling New Heights conference this June will help you learn how to mitigate risk and build a thriving practice.
There have been numerous challenges over the past year (e.g., economic, social and health crises). That was in addition to any business challenges - how has that work-life balance been? It’s time to take back control. The right plan, guidance and training can ensure that you have the essential tools necessary for soaring back in your life and practice. That is where Scaling New Heights comes into play.
The annual event is a leading accounting technology conference and one of the largest gatherings of certified QuickBooks ProAdvisors in the world. Whether you’re looking to network with fellow accountants and bookkeepers, receive tailored technical training or learn from leaders within the world of small business and accounting technology, this is a wonderful opportunity to receive guidance on building a thriving practice and scaling your approach to client management.
What are the details?
All Scaling New Heights training, exhibitor hours and events will be taking place at the Orlando World Center Marriott from Sunday, June 19 to Wednesday, June 22.
You can register and view specific details about the event here, but we’ve listed a few key things you won’t want to miss below.
Day 1: Sunday
If this is your first time attending the conference, consider arriving early Sunday morning or even Saturday evening to attend the First Time Attendee Orientation on Sunday from 9 to 10 a.m. Orientation will be followed by the Annual Joe Woodard Brunch from 10:30 to 11:50 a.m. There is an additional fee of $35 to attend brunch but it is open to everyone.
For a learning opportunity on Day 1, consider joining Lamont Nesbitt’s presentation, “Take a day off weekly to thrive” from 12 to 1:40 p.m. When was the last time you actually took advantage of PTO? Are you envious of those who do take regular vacation time? Taking time to take time off can be vital to unlocking your mind to achieve like you never have before.
Day 2: Monday
For the first day of exhibitor hours, be sure to stop by booth #71 from 11 a.m. to 1:10 p.m. to learn about helping your clients “Go Pro” with Sovos’ standard integration to QuickBooks Online. You can also enter for your chance to win a real GoPro.
From 1:20 to 3 p.m., check out “The Rules of Advisory Service,” presented by serial entrepreneur Mike Milan. Adding advisory services to your offering is a huge undertaking and sometimes requires learning a whole new skill. This session takes some of the stress out of working with your clients by giving you a set of rules to stay focused, understand objectives and have direction.
Day 3: Tuesday
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and why not learn at the same time? From 7:45 to 8:45 a.m, there is the Power Breakfast: Stand Out: Find Your Differentiator in a World of "Same." In the throes of tax season, it can be hard to think about standing out.
You’re just trying to keep your head above water. But scaling your firm demands that you differentiate and find your niche as you build your brand year-round. In this session, we will discuss ways to identify what makes you stand out from the competition, and how to weave your differentiators into a brand strategy to grow your firm and let it thrive.
Additionally, this is the last day to win a GoPro by stopping by the Sovos booth (#71). You’ll also see a demo of our plug-and-play integration for QuickBooks Online when you stop by to say, “Hi.”
At night, be sure to check out the BACK TO THE '80'S PARTY, from 8:30 to 11 p.m. at the Crystal Ballroom.
Day 4: Wednesday
Just because it’s the final day of the tradeshow doesn’t mean you can let your energy dwindle. Stop by from 7:45 to 8:45 a.m. for the Power Breakfast: Simplifying Sales Tax Management for QuickBooks Online.
Learn how your business can harness the power of a comprehensive sales tax engine while leveraging your existing QuickBooks Online solution. Partnering with Sovos positions your business for growth with a solution that ensures your tax compliance needs are met whether you do business in five states or all 50. Attend this session to see how you can streamline and simplify sales and use tax compliance with an out-of-the-box integration.
There is also the Technology Advisory - Help Your Clients Succeed with Technology, presented by Daniel Moshe. In this session, you will learn all about the Technology Advisory practice and how it complements your existing service offerings. You don’t need to be a tech expert to be a technology advisor, but you can make a huge impact in your clients’ organizations by being part of the conversation and helping them orchestrate the right resources to help them grow.
Scaling New Heights 2022 is great whether you attend for one day or the entire conference. But either way, prepare to learn how to thrive in the bookkeeping and accounting world. Looking forward to seeing you there.
