The Reimagined QuickBooks ProAdvisor Program: What You Need to Know

If you’re a QuickBooks ProAdvisor, you likely received an email recently outlining the first iteration of Intuit’s reimagined ProAdvisor®️ Program. This renewed program, developed in close collaboration with the accounting community, promises to bring a host of new benefits, incentives, and point-earning opportunities.

I sat down with Tiffany Beltis, Intuit’s Director of Partner Growth, at the QuickBooks Connect conference in Las Vegas, to get the details and motivation behind the redesign and changes to the program. In this article, we’ll cover what’s changed and how to navigate and get the most out of the reimagined program for your firm.

Overview of new and updated benefits

The ProAdvisor Program now includes new point-earning opportunities and tier thresholds, alongside exclusive benefits such as discounts, event access, and firm growth consultations. Premium customer care (phone and chat support) is now available for Gold tier ProAdvisors and above.

Reflecting on these changes, Tiffany Beltis, Director of Partner Growth at Intuit, emphasizes the shift toward practical learning:

"We've really shifted our focus to making our training more interactive and practical. It's no longer just about passing a test; it's about truly understanding and applying what you've learned in real-world scenarios." – Tiffany Beltis

A significant addition to the program includes training and discounts for ProConnect Tax Online and Intuit Tax Advisor, catering to the evolving needs of modern accounting professionals who are folding tax preparation and advisory services into their practice. This is complemented by an increased Mailchimp discount on the Standard Plan and new accountant-approved app recommendations.

Changes to member tiers and points system

The program details various ways to earn points, such as through certifications and client subscriptions. Even with as few as 500 points, accountants unlock premium phone and chat support, highlighting the accessibility of the program’s benefits.

Don’t worry if it seems you’ve been downgraded. As an Elite ProAdvisor since the last revamp, my firm will be moving to the Gold tier in a few months, but we won’t lose any of our existing benefits – I just won’t have access to the new Platinum or Elite benefits, which include the firm growth consultation and the special events and discounts. However, it's important to note the decrease in some discounts like DocuSign, and it’s recommended to download the QuickBooks Online presentation materials before the tier change takes effect on February 17, 2024.

While this strategy may appear counterintuitive (wouldn’t the growth consultation benefit those on the lower tiers most?), it makes sense since many of us in the Gold and Platinum tiers likely aren’t looking to scale our firms beyond those levels anyway. Offering larger quantity-based discounts is the norm in the industry.

A quick opportunity to earn points and enhance skills is at the upcoming QuickBooks Online Product Training and Certification Bootcamp, scheduled for December 5-7, 2023.

This reimagined program not only signifies a step forward in training and empowerment but also showcases QuickBooks' dedication to growing alongside its community of accounting professionals.
